2004
Following the restructuring which saw the amalgamation of Carlsberg and Southern Bottlers into one entity, the company performed well beyond expectation due to the new focus and efficiency gains arising from the amalgamation. Teething problems were experienced after the installation of the PET plant in Lilongwe, but these war now fairly under control. All core Coca-Cola brands have been successfully bottled in PET containers and beer will follow suit soon. Greater attention is now being placed on better product distribution.

2005
The efficiencies registered in the previous year, following the amalgamation of Carlsberg Brewery Ltd and Southern Bottlers LTD, provided a solid foundation for the company to achieve superior results in 2005.

There was significant improved product distribution in this period, although it is clear that demand for Sobo Orange Squash and Quencher Water remained unsatisfied, due to PET plant bottlenecks in Lilongwe.

2006
Malawi distilleries merges with the Carlsberg/Sobo Group.
