In terms of the Listings Requirements of the Malawi Stock Exchange Limited, a listed company is required to publish a trading statement as soon as there is a reasonable degree of certainty that the financial statements for the period to be reported upon next will differ by at least 20% from that of the previous corresponding period. 

Macsteel acquires nail making machine PDF Print E-mail

Macsteel Limited has acquired a state-of-the-art nail machine to make a range of nails. This will help Malawi to save foreign exchange earnings as most of the nails used in the construction industry are imported. Speaking in an interview in Lilongwe on the sidelines of the Nelson Mandela Day Celebrations, Macsteel regional manager Vincent Gramani said being the biggest suppliers of roofing sheets, they decided to buy the nail making machine.

Declaration of Final Divedend PDF Print E-mail

At the Company's Twenty-Eighth Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 20 June, 2012, the following resolution was adopted: 

"THAT upon the recommendation of the Directors a final dividend of MK360.6 million representing MK3.00 per share in respect of the year ended 31st December, 2011 be and is hereby declared payable on Friday, 24th August, 2012 to those Shareholders registered in the books of the Company as at the close of business on Friday, 20th July, 2012.

During the year ended 31st December, 2011, an interim dividend of MK200 million representing MK1.66 per share was paid on 7th October, 2011.

Carlsberg Malawi Donates Medicines worth $1.5 Million PDF Print E-mail

Christmas came early to Malawi when on 21st December 2011, Carlsberg Malawi and CitiHope International made a donation of medicines worth $1.5 Million to the Ministry of Health. The donation was made possible through The Coca-Cola Medical Relief Initiative; a partnership between the Coca-Cola Africa Foundation in partnership with CitiHope International, a charity that works to prevent disease and promote health worldwide.
